birds are chirping
and I smile at the cirrus sky
lying down the grassy haven
flowers of purple and white
I see the glow in her eyes
as the petals sway in wind
and steal some kisses on my face
she smiles and I’m amazed
and I’m more blown away
the way she looks at me
her eyes sparkling blue
could burn the milky way
she doesn’t speak to me
her gentle voice is sweet
I hear her say the words
I never want to miss
she doesn’t watch me close
her stares melt me gently
dunno which is more beautiful
sunrise or sunset anymore
I lean so much closer
her every part is pulling me
need something get off my chest
like a fire set to burst
our lips meet like a magnet
soft kisses fill me in
she is miles apart
but underneath my skin
birds no longer tweet
skies are darker now
people turn the lights on
the butterflies still with us...
To my Angel…
I’ve never felt this way…

Only you could write like this. The short stanzas seem almost breathless in places, like you are almost catching your breath. And the last part with the butterflies was giving me butterflies too. Ha.
This might be the finest poem I have read by you, Fehl. What inspires you here is bringing out the best in you.
