St. Peter (Apung Iru) Parade
Have you seen a Patron Parade in the river?
St. Peter is being launched and paraded every year in the Pampanga river. Apung Iru, name used to refer to St. Peter, patron of the people of Apalit, is paraded through the Pampanga river, by his knights (Knights of Columbus) pulling the boat where the Patron Saint stand on board.
The thing is the boat doesn’t run through propeller. The knights and devotees of St. Peter just pull the rope attached from the boat so that the parade moves. And the people pulling are in the water.
That is really true devotion. After all, St. Peter is a fisherman disciple of Jesus.
This fluvial festival is held every June 28 – 30 each year. St. Peter is really loved by the people of Apalit, Pampanga. It is a remarkable festival in the Philippines.
It is a great experience to be part of the festive.

correction ..APO IRU has its own knights and they are the one taking care of hin every time he go out they are the devotee wearing yellow they are the Knights of St. Peter..
